goodbye to the best lil guy who accompanied me from like idk 2003?? had a good run. worked like a champ to the very last minute. suddenly wouldn't turn on after i turned it off

an mp3 player is a wonderful thing, because it gives you music you curated yourself, and because when you reach for it to up the volume or change the track you're not reaching for your phone. it won't trap you into a hell spiral of notifications and whatever. it just does what it does.
i will totally be getting another one and it'll be as cheap and basic as this one, because why do we need more than play, pause, volume? but this lil guy isn't getting tossed. he will be kept in the hall of the dead (my drawer) for generations to admire him. see u space cowboy.
